Charlie - The Cello Who Found His Own Way Home
In a moment of panic, Alice abandons her beloved cello, Charlie, and gives him up as lost - but Charlie never gives up on finding Alice again. Follow Charlie's adventures as he meets balloon sellers, dogs, crabs and a royal family (to name but a few) in his quest to get back home. Finally, he is brought to the Albert Hall by a kindly old lady, where he is reunited with Alice in dramatic circumstances.
Our Musical Director, Andy, the composer of Charlie, visited nine local schools; together with Graham Lowe, artist; and Maja Bugge, cellist; to work on Charlie and Alice's adventures. The participating children told stories, drew their own Charlie illustrations and learnt The Song of Valour that persuades Alice to be brave. This all lead to three grand finale performances in Summer 2016 where the Choir sang the story, 'Charlie' was played live by Maja, Graham's illustrations were thrown up behind all the action and the children joined in the Song of Valour.
