Lancaster Millennium Choir
Who are we?
We are a community choir and encourage all singers, neophytes or old hands, aged 11 to 111, to join us in trying out new (and often frankly outlandish) ideas, usually prepared for us by resident stave-spoiler Andy Whitfield.
What do we sing?
We love to perform music that challenges or surprises, as well as entertains – either in the subject matter or method of presentation. We especially enjoy pieces that challenge the senses, combining song with other media. Our repertoire includes hot topics such as children's rights, autism and pregnancy, but we intersperse these original works with new arrangements of more well-known tunes: Dr Who, the Lone Ranger, the Kinks, and even some Handel!
Where do we sing?
We rehearse at the Gregson Centre, Lancaster. We perform about five times a year; past gigs include the Sage Theatre Gateshead, halfway up Ingleborough, various streets and church halls and the good old Gregson itself.
Any proceeds from our performances go to worthy causes, usually Akany Avoko, a charity in Madagascar that has strong links with Lancaster. |
We are proud to support:

who provide shelter for destitute children and young people in Madagascar.
